Arizona Veterinary Dental Specialists have now opened a new office in Glendale, Arizona . This facility will help them to serve West Valley pet owners. Both offices have up-to-date equipment for handling all pet dental, oral surgery and anesthetic cases.
They will continue to see patients at our Scottsdale office and offer monthly continuing education seminars for doctors and technicians. They also invite doctors and technicians to spend the morning in our office observing dental and oral surgery cases.
The clinic will enable us to expand our dental teaching and
to share new techniques with you and your staff. We are re-introducing our
weekly seminars for technicians and doctors on Tuesday from 9:00am - 1:00pm
on periodontal disease evaluation and treatment as well as instrument care.

Phoenix Arizona Veterinary Dentistry,
is a veterinary practice that specializes in the identification and treatment
of disorders involving the oral cavity of the pets we love. Dr. Chris Visser
and his staff are dedicated to providing optimal health care for pets and assisting
your veterinarian to offer options for dental problems.
Phoenix Arizona Veterinary Specialists has been serving the Phoenix
Arizona region for more than 20 years. Their mission has always been to provide
the highest quality veterinary care in a compassionate manner, while working
with pet owners and their veterinarians to improve the health and happiness of
pets and clients. Client satisfaction and disease resolution are top priority
at our practices.
Dr. Chris J. Visser has been a veterinarian since 1964. He received his degree at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. After completing the American veterinary examination in 1980, he established a practice in Scottsdale. As a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC), Dr. Visser is one of the very few veterinarians in the country to pass the rigorous credentials, and examination to become a board-certified veterinary dentist. He is also a Charter Fellow of the International Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (AVD), and a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS). He has authored numerous articles and has lectured at many national and international veterinary dental meetings. Dr. Visser grew up and trained in South Africa, where his veterinary practice included large and small domestic animals, and some African wildlife. He continues his interest in the preservation of wildlife by volunteering his services to the Phoenix Zoo and Southwest Wildlife. He has recently been awarded the “Good Partner Award” by the Phoenix Zoo. Dr. Visser has been volunteering his services for fifteen years and has done over 300 dental procedures at the zoo. Dr. Visser currently serves on the zoo Board of Directors and is chairman of the Animal Welfare Sub-Committee. In 2006 he was awarded the Veterinary Professional Service Award by the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. The September 1998 issue of the Veterinary Clinics of North America includes a chapter on crown restorations authored by Dr. Visser.
Dr. Visser was awarded the “Veterinarian of the Year, 2007” by the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. He has donated his time and talent to the improvement of knowledge for veterinarians and veterinary technicians for many years and plays an important role in the delivery of high quality continuing education to AZVMA members, helping the association maintain it’s far-reaching reputation for excellence in scientific programming. In 20008 The Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA presented Dr. Visser with their Animal Welfare Award. He was the first recipient of the award which was formerly known as the Pet Person of the Year. The award is given to an outstanding individual in the animal community.
Dr. Curt Coffman received his B.S. in agriculture from Kansas State University in 1990 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 1993. Dr. Coffman worked as an Associate and Partner in small animal veterinary practice in Tempe, Arizona until 2000 when he joined Aid Animal Dental Clinic. He is a member of the Veterinary Dental Society (AVDS), a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (AVD) and a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (DAVDC). Dr. Coffman currently serves as President-elect on the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry Board of Directors.
Dr. Coffman enjoys presenting continuing education lectures around the country for veterinarians and technicians on the subject of veterinary dentistry. He is a frequent volunteer at the Phoenix Zoo were he has provided dental treatments for a variety of animals including Willie the Spectacled Bear and Desi the Sea Otter. As a veterinary dentist with Aid Animal Dental Clinic, Dr. Coffman works with referral, dentistry patients where his areas of major interest include restorative dentistry and regenerative periodontal surgery.
Arizona Veterinary Dental Specialists (Aid Animal Dental Clinic) serves the entire state of Arizona and surrounding
states. The counties within AZ are: Maricopa, Apache, Cochise, Coconino,
Gila, Graham, Creenlee, La Paz, Mohave, Navajo, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Yavapai,
and Yuma County.
The names of many of the counties pay tribute to the state's Native American heritage. Fully ten of the fifteen counties are named after various native groups that are resident in parts of what is now Arizona. Another four counties are named after physical geographic features, with the final count being named after one of the state's early pioneers
