What do you love about veterinary dentistry?
Every day I come to work is a gift from God. I love it. I am grateful to be able to come to work and do procedures on these pets who play such an important role in owners lives. Each case is different, and some are challenging but that is what I find stimulating and exciting. I love it when owners tell me after a procedure that I do on a patient that “ my dog/cat is like a new dog/kittie again”. I also am thrilled to have the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with younger doctors in our practice.

What is your pet dental home care tip?
Brushing the teeth regularly and using treats that are approved by VOHC.

Michael Balke, DVM, DAVDC

What do you love about veterinary dentistry?
“I love being able to fix a problem that can increase the quality of life so much for an animal and its owner. I’m committed to staying current with the best treatment options we can provide for pets.”

What is your pet dental home care tip?
Nothing is better than daily brushing, nothing!

Curt Coffman, DVM, DAVDC

What do you love about veterinary dentistry?
I love being able to fix a pets dental pain and send them home feeling better. When the pet owner tells me, their dog is acting like a puppy after a visit to our office, it makes me smile. We are able to offer professional dental cleaning and oral surgery to many pets that others doctors say are too old for dental care. Our veterinary anesthesia specialist helps us offer the safest anesthesia for even the pets that have heart problems.

What is your pet dental home care tip?
One easy thing…I look in my pets mouth on a regular basis. This helps me see any changes to the teeth or gums.
